On Monday, under the threat of wet winter weather, we worked up the ground in the 6th Street and West Street fields, where most of the spring crops will be planted, knowing that it would likely be awhile before things would dry out again. Looks like that turned out to be a good choice. Let’s hope the weather looks kindly upon us for our potato planting event on March 23.
The onions took the next step toward the field today. We moved most of them out from under the grow lights and into the cold frames. They’ll spend their first night outside tonight. With a predicted low of 31° F, they will be glad for the morning sun.
