Each summer, UACC partners with Community Attention Youth Internship Program (CAYIP) to offer a six-week internship for one middle or high school age student. Interns work side-by-side with UACC staff, learning to grow food while developing basic job skills and the ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds. In 2015, we hired Jennifer Minor, UACC’s first full-time Farm Apprentice from the neighborhood. Over the long-term, the Farm Apprentice will learn to manage all aspects of our Food Production & Distribution program and help train the next generation of urban farmers.
